Week 12 : Stumbling Blocks & Witnessed my first Baptisms

Hola everyone,

This week was a rough week.  The week started good, but then  my comp was called to the Capital for a meeting so we missed two whole days of working while she was their in training to be the new Hermana Leader in our district.  I ended up going in a trio with the other Hermanas that live in my house and just sat through all the lessons.  When Hermana Francis got back, it was awkward trying to catch up on things we missed and the whole week just got thrown off.  We had a lot of great lessons and things we thought were going to be stepping stones, but then turned right around and had a crash landing and our stepping stones turned into stumbling blocks.  We had a really powerful lesson with an investigator named Monica and it was so powerful.  We taught the Restauration to her and her kids and their friends and they all took it really well until one kid asked a questions that was contrary our beliefs and it set off a chain of downhill slides.  It turns out that Monica is meeting with missionaries from another church as well and she thinks she will hurt their feelings my coming to our church.. She believes it is all true, what we´ve taught her, but she also believes anyting that talks of Christ is true (as do a lot of people here which is one of our biggest downfalls).  The week just got worse from there and we had more very powerful lessons which in the end, crashed and burned, causing everything just taught to go up in flames.  It was a frustrating week overall.  A lot of our investigators who we thought were making great progress suddenly don't show up for their citas, or they don't come to church or answer our phone calls.  The highlight of our week was that the Elders in my District had 3 baptisms!! I witnessed my first baptisms in the field and they were wonderful.  So powerful.  Despite the crappy week, my head is still above water. Love you all

Until next week, Hermana Perry
